The name Halve Maen has its roots in the family history. It refers to the souvenir shop of a family member of founder Jan Mark Molenaar, a place where entrepreneurship, curiosity, and craftsmanship were central. At the same time, the name refers to the Dutch East India Company and the ship De Halve Maen, a symbol of maritime voyages of discovery in which new routes, possibilities, and unknown territory were explored.
This idea closely reflects the way Halve Maen Projecten works: inquisitive, forward-looking, and with the courage to develop new solutions.
